‘Boondi Kadhi’ is a variation to the Punjabi style pakode wali kadhi or kadhi pakodi and a great dish when you are lazy enough to make pakodis or fritters for kadhi, as a packet of ‘Boondi’comes handy. These tiny gramflour balls or boondi have a very unique taste and when combined with kadhi make a dish which is easy to make and soulful to taste. This boondi kadhi recipe is also a keeper for days when you want to break yourself from the monotony of eating veggies and crave for something unusual and palatable. But while you’re trying out this recipe, do not miss to make rice, as boondi kadhi and rice is a match made in heaven same as of chole and bhature!
Did you try Boondi Ka Raita? It makes a very healthy side dish and can be paired with all Indian meals.
Boondi kadhi tastes best with rice. For a special weekend meal try substituting steamed rice with jeera rice, mint rice or Maharashtrian style green beans pulao. Pair with pavakkai stir fry or khatte meethe aloo along with some phulkas and Punjabi namkeen lassi.
For a simple lunch box meal, team boondi kadhi with potato pulao and Rajasthani style Green Chilly Pickle. Now that's making me drool!
