‘Healthy khatta meetha chiwda namkeen’ or ‘Poha namkeen’ is a very popular tea time snack made in Indian households during the festive time of Holi and Diwali. It is made with beaten rice (Rice flakes) also known as poha, choora, aval or chiwda in most places. It is crunchy, flakey and various ingredients like cashew nuts, raisins, coconut flakes, peanuts, lotus seeds, cornflakes, spices can be added as per ones preference.
In traditional recipe all these ingredients are deep fried in oil one by one which increases the content of oil, making it unhealthy. But, here we are giving a low fat recipe in which you can dry roast most of the ingredients and thus reduce the quantity of oil and make it a healthier munching option.
