‘Thepla’ is a very popular Gujarati breakfast. It is a kind of flat bread made with different flours and spices and usually served with pickle or yogurt.
‘Spinach Thepla’ or ‘Palak Thepla’ is another way to add some more vitamins to the regular thepla. These are filling, healthy and absolutely delightful with a hot cup of ginger tea & garlic chutney. Team up with spicy n tangy mango pickle……n it’s perfect to be packed for lunch box too. Spinach theplas also make wholesome meals when paired with dal, curries and raita. So for a change try substituting the regular rotis and paranthas with these nourishing spinach theplas and see how a slight change in meal breaks you from the monotony.
For a power packed breakfast serve palak thepla with Rajasthani green chilly pickle and a bowl of curd.
To make a wholesome meal serve these spiced palak thepla with aloo methi curry, kadhi pakodi and jackfruit masala.
Spinach thepla taste best with tomato gathiya nu shaak alongwith sonth chutney.

‘Spinach Theplas’ are ready. Relish with tea n pickle of choice. You can also pack it for lunch box with aloo ki subzi and yogurt for a delicious and wholesome meal.
Tip –
Cook theplas on medium to high heat. Never cook on low heat otherwise, they would turn chewy.
