‘Chaas’ is a very popular summer drink and so flavorful that no one can stop at just one glass. The basic ingredient of chaas is ‘Curd’ or ‘Dahi’ and the best time to serve is daytime or with lunch. Besides being refreshing, cooling it also aids in digestion and hence also served in restaurants with ‘Thali’. There are various recipes of chaas, with little variations using sugar, mint, coriander, spices and ginger like ‘Masala Chaas’ also known as 'Punjabi namkeen lassi'. But here we are giving the most simple recipe of ‘Plain Chaas’ or ‘Salted Chaas’ which is quick to make and pairs very well with meals.
*Serve chilled chaas on hot summer afternoons as appetizer.
*You can also pair with your regular ‘Thali’ consisting kali masoor dal or kadhi pakodi, tofu masala curry, khatte meethe aloo or palak tamatar ki subzi. Do not miss to pair with tantalizing kachumbar salad.
*In summers, if you’re feeling acidic after having a heavy or spicy meal, then drink a glass of this plain chaas. You Would feel better!
